I went to my usual honey hole at 0630 on Monday and it was still dark and the homeowner who's property I use for access was out of town...I drove around for a bit and decided to hit another location, boy am I glad I did! On the first cylinder I scored the Cobalt Shaker Medicine "Tilden & Co New Lebanon NY" a couple of slick flasks both Ayer's Hair Vigor bottles, a really small aqua medicine "Kemp's Cough Balsam", some coins, a pipe and some miscellaneous bottles. On the second the cylinder I found an aqua J & IEM Igloo Inkwell, 1890's Canadian Dime, 1899 IH Penny, a no date Buffalo Nickle, 14k Wedding Band, 1951 Silver Rosie, a Silver Cuff Link and a denture plate (ewww). All of this was recovered while hand fanning for bottles as my detector is OOS.

Hi bblaha, hand fanning is a technique used by some divers to move sand when a dredge is not available, it simply involves forcefully pushing water towards the bottom with a cupped hand to move the sand and create a hole instead of reaching into the sand and getting cut. Since I only dive rivers with current, the sand is rapidly carried away and exposes the bottles for me to recover. I hope that answered your question.

Congratulations on great finds I found a set of dentures in a Privy once.

Man that's cool stuff, but me I don't get in the water. They pushed me in one time I was like a rock right to the bottom. lol HH

Sweet, sweet, sweet, sweet, sweet!
