Update... we selected the winners.
See below for list and instructions.
Thanks
Doc

Long story made short...

I think it will be fun.

We have some cons from one of our ops.
The cons have a fair amount of fine gold. Lots of 50 - 100 - 150 and even 200 mesh gold.
However, I don't feel comfortable selling them with our normal cons which usually have some chunkier gold as well.
So....... I figured I would give away some of them here.
I figure a scoop / maybe around a pound per person.
GREAT practice for panning.
We will use a random number generator to choose the winners. RANDOM.ORG - True Random Number Service

Here's what I came up with.
I created an email address just for this: [email protected]

Send an email there with your board user name, that's it.
(Please don't PM me here, only use that email.)
If you win, I'll send you an email back asking for your shipping address.
We'll pay the shipping and all.
If you want you can come back and post some pics of the gold.

Rules...
Only one email per user. If you send more than one... you're out. :)
We can only ship them to US based customers in the lower 48.
We'll pick 10 winners.

Good Luck
Doc

We'll do the drawing in about a week.

I didn't win a bag but i did order a bag of doc's x-mas mix. It is going under the tree for me and my son. When i saw that the x-mas mix had more gems in it i had to order it as my son spends as much time looking for rocks, minerals and gems as looking for gold.
I also want to thank doc for the panning video. I'm a newbe and i learned more from that video ( you make it look so easy ). Hopefully with years of experiance it will be that easy. I figure the more i prospect the more i will learn.
Im glad my son is starting to learn this at 8 yrs old.

Thanks Steve....
I wish everyone would watch the "School series video" on panning.
Regardless of experience... I think you learn a lot from it.
Floating gold info, hand placement, etc....

Have fun with the X-Mas cons, we sold out.
I replaced them with another version which are really cool too.

I'm sorry I'm late reporting in, this is our busiest time at work, I received the cons on the 10th and I'll be panning them out over our Christmas break off work.

Thanks again Doc for your generosity!

Here is my report on my cons.
first thing I did was run them through a spagetti strainer to get them down to about 1/8th size.
Then I ran them through a kitchen basket strainer that a person ads to there sink.
Then I panned in a Garrett 14 inch green pan.
Then those went to a 14 inch black pan.
Then they went to my home made miller table.
The result is in the pics.

I watched the video of Doc panning.
So, I have learned 2 valuable lessons with this package.
1-How to pan properly.
2-My miller table works perfect.
The pic of the gold in my miller table you will see a stone. This stone is one that came out of the small kitchen screen, so you can see how small and fine the gold is.
What mesh, I have no idea, maybe some one can tell me,but it is small. The stone went through the screen.

So,thanks Doc. Will be ordering those mats in a few weeks.
Final shot is in vial.
