Good Iron ? yes apparently there is such a thing.

ZDD and me, the plan, a simple one, swing till your shoulder hurts, and the rubber boots have chaffed the skin off your legs. Check, and check.

At least it wasn't raining, and the temp was nice too.

Got a half dozen coppers, including a GEO II, and Geo III.

As luck would have it the axe wasn't deep, or it might still be there. I guess I should ask first...this is indeed a trade axe ?

Dave said it was a good find, and sent a link of a couple for sale. Not saying worth what people ask, but seems to be a good find indeed. I will get it cleaned up, and show results when done.

Nice axe! If you're going to dig iron that's the iron to dig! I dug a big iron today as well, an old iron (an iron iron). Jeeze...I sound like Dr. Seuss! I think we were hunting in the same area today...I was going to come looking for you guys but got too settled in at my site.

All great finds, I think the axe would have made me happier than the coins on that hunt

Great site you guys got going, don't be surprised to see some more French, or Spanish coming outta there!

The axe does make me happier, I'm going to clean it up, and fashion a handle for it.
The coins, not worth an OZ. of HP. I might keep one of those, or give them all to owner. 1 musket ball today got us another acre.

Great looking axe, it'd be interesting to see if it has any touch markings on it. Well done once again on the grouping of coppers also, at least some have got a little detail.

Man that is one nice axe. It looks bigger in the pic then in real life. It's more of a hatchet or Tomahawk. Can't wait to see the finished piece.

Wow...I just realized how small that axe is...a true belt axe! I think that one is more for cleaving skulls and less for chopping kindling...
