Good Iron ? yes apparently there is such a thing.

ZDD and me, the plan, a simple one, swing till your shoulder hurts, and the rubber boots have chaffed the skin off your legs. Check, and check.

At least it wasn't raining, and the temp was nice too.

Got a half dozen coppers, including a GEO II, and Geo III.

As luck would have it the axe wasn't deep, or it might still be there. I guess I should ask first...this is indeed a trade axe ?

Dave said it was a good find, and sent a link of a couple for sale. Not saying worth what people ask, but seems to be a good find indeed. I will get it cleaned up, and show results when done.

Rick, that's a nice colonial belt axe, probably French & Indian War vintage.

Look for blood on it, someone may have cracked a skull with it :laughing7:

Thanks Steve.
The clean up is coming along, after only 5 or 6 days of vinegar soak I scraped off at least a tablespoon full of rust, mostly from the eye hole which was half plugged with very hard rust build up. I'm a little surprised at how well this is working. Was considering something a little stronger / faster.

Very nice outing! Those coppers are nice but I really like that ax.

Rick nice Coppers how many is that,Holy:censored:

But that axe is a killer find:headbang:

That was probably someones pride and joy right there:thumbsup:
