Long hot day for me, no water hunting, back to land! lol I went at day break up around Bucks County to scout a piece of woods for Vino and I. Last night I treated my clothes in permethion bug spray so as not to get ticks and chiggers, I knew I was going deep woods. I spent about a hour and a half hunting in there not finding what I was looking for (can't say too much) on the group photos the stuff with the trap was all I found there. George told me he couldn't hunt and that I should go down to Phila to the Meeting House and hunt there (nice having friends with connections like that. That place is a dream hunt!) So I hunted three and a half hours there with many breaks for water and rest. I'm starting to get my digging muscles back, lol.
Enjoy the pix
HH and GL everyone
Brad
I'm claiming its a 1749 George II Halfpenny

Are you sure that isn't a young head 1734? Nice finds, Treb. Looks like someone forgot a trap in their line.

I was just on this very informative site, I was able to hold the coin in my hand and look at the pix from the site.I also measured and weighed the coin. They say the 1749 is 30 mm and 10.30 gr, mine is 28 mm and 9.5 g ( there is not a gr mode on my cheap harbor fright scale, lol) looking at the pix the head and shoulders are different, the reverse, she is clearly pointing the flowers at a different letter.
It is for sure, third number, a 4. It is now confirmed a 1749 Half Penny

I hope that sounds ok and I'm not coming off like a hard arse, I appreciate everyone's help always! The researching had been most of my fun with this great hobby. God really blessed me with all you guys on this site. My family is sick of hearing about my metal detecting. I only have you guys to bend an ear! Haaaaaaa

Nice early finds there Brad. That copper is in great shape, and I love shoe buckle and watch winder too. You need to hit that spot again.

Nice group of finds there. Very cool watch winder. I have found a couple with glass in the them. I suspect it is early 19th century rather than late 19th century.

Great hunt! Nice halfpenny and watch winder, you can use it to hypnotize the rest of the coins so they come out of the ground!

Just make sure you leave the locals (snakes, ticks, bugs) where you found them.

There's something ironic about submersing your self in snake, tick, bug, poison ivy, and God only knows what else infested country, but the thing that takes you down is a normal meal in a modern civilized everyday run of the mill restaurant !
Glad your ok, and survived your encounter with breakfast, you never know when life's going to do a "gotcha!"
Did they suggest an epi-pen? I'm pack'n Benadryl at all times, gel caps!

Thanks, last allergic reation I had was about ten or fifteen years ago, felt a little more intense this time. I'll be all right, only slowed me down for a few hours.
