Stepped right into it up to my ears today. The same feeling many years later finding my second 1789 George Washington inaugural button. After all the dandy buttons I have found without a glimpse of an eagle I thought the same with this one as the reverse was facing me when I pointed it out of the hole. Then I see chicken legs and a star and was GW the rest of the day. Loving my hobby. The GW is a, WI 12 B, R5. Intact loop. The small decorative button has a drilled loop. Tombac buttons & smalls.

You have my vote for banner. I've seen few dug GWI buttons in such superb condition. :notworthy: That find has stunning eye appeal. Congrats to you.

That thing looks as perfect as one could ever hope for with no corrosion! Wow! This thing is amazing. I'll give that two banner votes if it was even possible! Leave some out there for the rest of us!!! :notworthy:

Congrats and welcome to the Holy Grail club (again). Still waiting for my second!

Mine took 7 years. Hope I don't have to wait that long again. One a year would be great...
