Hello
A good week that started slow. However, rain soaked ground and adjusting the settings helped find the deeper targets. All finds were on post, just when I thought I found everything. The real surprise was the Australian 1927 silver coin, it was 1 inch under on a soccer field... I think someone has been borrowing coins from dad's collection.
Also found the power of positive thinking, I hoped to find a German ID tag, and 20 minutes later I found (a piece of one). The neat find was a German coin for use in a cantine (mess hall). A local historian will actually meet a old veteran of the post who worked there(he's 90 yrs old). The next 30 days will involve Graf and Honf training, anyone who has been stationed here know what I'm talking about.
HELP ID: The aluminum ring (possibly for finger wear) has II 1928 (roster symbol)
and GB on it??
NOTABLES:
1927 Silver Australian coin
50, Cantine, 1-7 KEV (cavalry) coin
Piece of a German soldier ID tag ( I actually think this is the 3rd piece from the same tag that I found before)
1942 Mercury
1941 German 37mm/ 3.7cm brass cannon shell casing
Numerous lead seals
Bavarian Inf button
Star shaped button or pin
Ammo and clad
That's all
HH
Top row: Strange ring on bullet, Merc, Australian silver, German mess hall ration coin (we believe)
Second row: lead seals, ID tags
Third row: Buttons
The goods, 37mm on top
Coins flipped and ring turned
Just another view
