It would be like opening a box of circus entertainment, wouldn't it?
...My mother took a European tour, many years ago...
Seems there was a VERY wealthy Australian lady on the adventure.
In conversation, she learned Mom had a large family.
She offered to send us kids a koala!
Could you imagine?
..We did have plenty eucalyptus trees around, but Mom felt it wise to decline.
I'm sure chipmunks is the best offer I ever had, CG, but I think I should pass.
Sure is cute. My little munk has to compete with 5 squirrels. But he is much faster then they are. I hope that he is faster then the hawk that also hangs around here. The crows seem to keep the hawk at bay most of the time. That chipmunk is so fast that I have not been able to get a pic of him.
That is one cute Chippy! I also love squirrels. Time to stock up on seeds and corn for the winter. Time is running out! I don't want my little buddies to go hungry. Mosey
As cute as those animals are they can be a real nuisance to. I don't have any chipmunks at my feeder but the squirrels sure do eat the majority of the seed. I have about 6 or 7 squirrels that come on a regular basis. Loved the photos.
Great Chippy photos Kim! Like PBK, our first "pet" was a Chipmunk, that we bought in a store when we lived in Washington State. I believe ours lived 4 years. Squirrels, well now, I call them tree rats, no love lost between us.
I think our Chipmunk population goes up when the feral and neighborhood cats are down, and down when feral cats and neighborhood cats are up!
Darn I would have loved a pet chipmunk! Never heard of that before, I'd love to see pictures if you guys ever run across them.
Ours are pretty friendly, sometimes a little too friendly, if you are in their way, no big deal, they'll just run across your foot. Ty couldn't believe it yesterday when one ran right beside him. "COOL! I've never had one do that before!"
Yesterday I picked up a few ears of corn out of the field and spread peanut butter on them, then hung them from the trellis and trees. The Hubby says "why didn't you make it easier for them to get at?" Well now, that wouldn't make for very good pictures now would it? Hung one by the trail camera too, can't wait to see those ones!
Oh my, you're not trapping those bushy tailed rats are ye? Lead enema's work better, for city critters pellet rifle is awesome , when the others see what's happenin', they start packin' their bags .......NGE
Got the grandkids Alvin and Chipmunks for Christmas, and I showed this to Kirstin this am (shes home from school) and she had no idea that is what a real chippy looks like!
