Getting your boxes to the car

Do most of you guys use a cart or trolley of some sort? I've thought about getting one, but I already get enough looks and comments as is so I just carry everything out. I just try to get out as quickly and quietly as possible. I don't need people watching, following, or trying to get in on my action.

I typically only get 3 boxes of halves per branch so it isn't too big of a deal. I laugh at the times I've doubled up and i see the little ladies struggling with one box and they get all six stacked up and ask me how I am going to get them out now. I just say I will carry them. As I pick the six up, the inner mother comes out in all of them and they are genuinely worried for me lol. What they don't know is that my other hobby is competitive powerlifting with a raw deadlift of over 700 pounds in competition. I could probably do 8 flat boxes of halves, but they would cover part of my face.

I did drop a box of dimes not long ago trying to carry 6 which I've done countless times before with no issue. The dime boxes are so small and slide around a lot. I also won't carry more than 4 brinks boxes of halves because of the same reason and that is what got me thinking of what to use for transport or just make multiple trips.

I carry mine out but I don't get 6 boxes just 2 the tellers always struggle with just one box and then I hold it with one hand with the box resting on my forearm. But if I get 2 of more I stack them up. But I could never lift 6 boxes they weigh the same as I do

I use a folding hand truck with a telescoping handle I picked up at Menard's (northern version of home Depot, Lowe's, etc). It cost about $40, and holds approximately 350 lbs. Folds flat when not in use.

Flat boxes are much easier to carry than brinks double stack boxes. I can carry 4 flat boxes no problem and I am not that big of a buy. I usually carry out 3 brinks boxes at one time and still have to fumble with keys to unlock the car when I get out to it all the while holding 3 boxes with one arm.

+1, Yup, I can only carry out 3 Brinks boxes too. I only order 2 at a time, the ladies seem to really struggle to get one at a time to the counter and I feel bad. The most I've ordered at once is 4 boxes(had to make 2 trips to the truck) and the bank ladies had to bring them out on a 2 tier cart they had. I can't imagine ordering 6 at a time from 1 branch, they probably wouldn't let me do that many times before something was said to me. Good luck! HH, Maverick

I opt for the child's red wagon in the spring, summer and fall. A sled in winter time.

Generally I have my Dad with me, which is also a big dude, so when we do nickels or pennys, I can usually carry about 4 boxes, and he can carry about 5 or 6. We've only done that much twice though.

I usually just carry 4 if theyre the flat boxes...if not I just make two trips. One bank is kind enough to loan me there xart but I respectively decline.

I use two different folding platform carts- The one I use most often is the black one shown- It holds like 300 pounds and folds flat(the wheels even tuck in). It fits nicely behind the seat of my Wrangler. When I have a larger pickup or return, I use the blue one. It has a 660 pound capacity and I have carried 10k in halves on it with no problem. 418WqUWLAdL._SL500_AA300_.jpg 41sH8bMNoeL._SL500_AA300_.jpg

Those of you carrying out 3-4 of the flat halves boxes, some day, maybe not today...maybe not tomorrow......you WILL drop them, and you WILL look funny chasing all those rolls across the parking lot. :laughing7: Also, the sides of those boxes are a weak point. If you have not experienced the side letting go and 25 pounds of copper flying out and onto the ground you haven't lived.

I do 2 at a time, or use a cart.

i carry 6 coin lock bags for dumping, on the rare occasion i take more than 3k to a single dump I ask for their cart. Usually when I pick up they give me their cart, if its 4 or less flat boxes I just carry them out and no Namster I won't drop them :-)

However!!! One time this kid was pushing out 6 boxes for me at a Chase branch (this one branch always insists on escorting) and he goes over the speed bump and dumped the cart, it was pretty funny. Miraculously only one of the boxes broke open and only 4-5 rolls popped out and none actually split open....that was a relief! So I every time I pick up their we always give him crap, or if its a different teller I say, "ok be careful now, don't pull a Chris!" and they always chuckle.

I use the same cart n8dagr8345 uses. It holds 20 boxes no problem when I do my big pickups directly from garda.

keeping it low key is definately the key to this hobby.

I can easily carry out a 2 boxes of halves with a dime box, but when you do 2 boxes of halves and 2 boxes of dimes at the same time, it can get a little heavy, especially when you have to reach in your pocket for the car keys... :BangHead:
