I meant to post this yesterday with my dime and IHP but forgot. I found this close to the same location a couple weeks ago. As you can see the outside is rough but the inside is still pretty good. I don't know a lot about rings so i was wondering if someone could help me date it. Its stamped 16k on the inside. Personally I have never seen a 16k ring. I was told it may be old but I don't know. Not the best pic but it is for sure a 16. Thanks for the help.

For you I hope I'm wrong. It looks plated. I'm no expert though. You'll get better answers soon. Does the green flake off?

There is a designation for 16K.
It is 66.7% gold
Whether plated or not? Remains a question.
Does it clean up better?
Great find in my book.
To whomever lost it would be priceless.

I've found a couple of gold-plated rings that were brass or copper underneath. Always a disappointing. Good work on the recovery regardless!

I have found two rings that were plated like this and marked as 18k.
