This was a find from a few weeks back...at the beach, dry sand at about 4" deep.

Dan (Captn_SE) tested the diamonds and I was astounded they were REAL! There's 21, set in 3 groups of 7.

I do have a question...the ring looks Gold to me for certain but there's NO "K" marking at all. There's also some very small porosity and looks not to be what I'd buy as a 1st class ring.

Could this indicate extreme age? Or a second quality ring of more recent age? What surprises me is to put 21 diamonds on a poor quality cast Gold ring.

Any opinions?

HH Joe

If the diamonds are real then certainly you have real gold. But who cares in this case if the gold is real,
YOU HAVE 21 DIAMONDS!! :D

Could be it was never marked, or it could be a modification, such as sizing, removed the mark. Or it could be that its worn off. Not too difficult to have a jeweler check it. Any which way, if it loaded with diamonds, I doubt its not gold. Congrats.

Great find, Jeez.

Europeans often do not mark the gold, it doesn't really mean anything when you find it at the beach, where tourists could be.

Nice ring! I also found a gold ring here in Germany with 11 diamonds set in it and no hallmarks at all. I tossed it aside, at home, thinking it was junk. We happened to go shopping where a coin dealer shop is so I took the ring to get it tested just for grins and to have something to do other than being dragged through every clothing store in town. I was very surprised when it tested an unusual 12K gold and the diamonds were real. My Mom in law somehow ended up with that ring but it was a good bribe as she no longer hassles me about detecting, LOL! HH, Mike

Very lovely ring! Many of mine don't have gold stamps anymore because I've had them resized for each kid I had. I'm hoping that will help me get them back if I ever lose them, who would think they were real? ;D

Sorry but I think it is an ugly ring, but that's just me. To each their own right? Dose it have a number inside like a .585(14k) or .750(18k) or like those, if not a karat mark? What people are saying is true they don't usually put real stones in fake gold. I bet its a higher Karat like 18k or 22k.

Cool find,

Keep @ it and HH!!
