Is this a diamond ? Found while panning

Is this a diamond ? I found it panning and I am not sure if it is or not as I have never seen one while panning before. I figured it could either be diamond or quartz. I tried to zoom in as much as possible so you can see it better. Thank you !

Its fairly small like a pebble size

Side note: A diamond will scratch glass.

There are many test that can be done. Do a specific gravity test and that may help. Also, the staining would make me believe it is quartz. I have been down this road a lot. I would clean it up and go from there.

Im hoping someone can help me with this. I found this rock in Peru and am wondering if it's really a rock or if it's a very hard and sandy seed and if it's been carved or just worn away to look like this. Thanks to anyone who might have any insight.

Likely quartz.

Don't fall for the "glass myth".
Many minerals scratch glass including but not limited to: Quartz, Topaz, Beryl, Zircon, Corundum...
Using a synthetic piece of corundum is quite helpful, rather then glass, since only very few thing scratch it.

Likely sedimentary in origin, has a slight resemblance to concretions. Perhaps the same process (or a similar one) created this fellow. Natural.

beautiful rock

IMG_0051.JPG IMG_0058.JPG

found this rock on the beach 18 years ago. Pics do not do it justice but the rock is very heavy. It is a dark gray color with brilliant specularity. This rock sparkles tremendously in dim light and even more in bright light.

Cant seem to find a match for it online... what is it?

Not sure on this one.

Non magnetic, silvery grey shine. Solid at 15.5 grams dry. Any help would be appreciated.

Magnetic? Do a streak test (= Rubb against a unglazed piece of porcelain) and get back on what colour you get.

You get the same instructions as the fellow above:
Do a streak test (= Rubb against a unglazed piece of porcelain). Likely hematite, a reddish streak would confirm it.
