got my best find today

well today i went to crusaders field again and had a really good day!
i got fed and watered and cru's dad even picked me up a new shovel thanks again for everything
crusader even took the pics for me which will follow!

my best find was a beautiful roman brooch, i've wanted one since i can remember and this one sill has the pin on it which still swivels
also my first jetton
3 possibly 4 roman coins, one of which cru's dad says is a new variant
a medieval belt mount
and a nice georgian military button( royal artillary regiment)
plus george 11 and a victorian coin
oh! and a 17th century token

When you find something that you always wanted, then it means more than just its £ value. Its priceless. I'm talking about the 2nd Century Roman Headstud Brooch which will probably be impossible to beat. I have a bag full of brooches & maybe only 2 with pins. Shaun7 gets his first Brooch with pin The story could have been very different, as we were grid searching with 3 of us in the line & Shaun7 choose this run which could have easily been Cru'dads

not sure whether its 1700 years old or 1800! cru will know, but its a commemorative, she wolf suckling romulus and remus,bust of roma

Its about AD330s, the mint is unlike any other recorded in the books. The * before the mint letters is normally after it. Its commemorating the death of Constantine the great!

Its a Trier Mint (Germany)

Poor kids getting suckled by a wolf Its the other way around Romulus & Remus where suckling the she wolf. I believe they were thought to have founded the city of Rome.

Wow Shaun, I bet you 'love' Cru now! He's a great guy for sharing, that is for sure! Very happy that you got a bunch of stuff, is ALL of that yours? You look like the road runner.... Happy to hear that you were watered and fed, was there a bush also in the area to lose some of that during your search, or did you hide your equipment in the bush instead?
