I finally opened an old penny bank that belonged to a great uncle. It was shaped like a car. Was I surprised by what it held.
It had 68 wheats, the oldest was 1919, 1926 and 1937d. The rest dated from 1940 to 1959. There was a 1919 buffalo and a 1941d. It had 5 IH, 1900, 1904,1887,1890, and a rough 1878. Eleven 1941 to 1945 Mercury dimes, two had s on them, and 1 1964d rosie.
It also had a coin that had Elisabeth the second 1960 on one side and the other side said British Caribbean Territory Eastern Group, it said 5 cents. I don't know if this is of any value or not.
I still haven't figured how to put a picture with this, but my son is supposed to show me soon.
Thanks for looking.
