From the land of the Bluenose.....French Dave and his bilingual wonder dog Max arrived at 1830 hours yesterday from Cape Breton and in true Maritime tradition we had a big scoff of lobster and a few Bud to help us prepare for the coming days dig not too mention gaining some valuable brownie points with Marie which would come in handy.

Next morning we departed for the water taxi in a torrential downpour that would have easily rivalled what Noah had to contend with. The trip over to the island was smooth and within a few minutes we were back on land and ready to swing in the rain. First stop of the day proved to be the most productive with each of us potting a few large pennies, coppers and a silver.

French Dave led the way with an 1885 fish scale and I retorted with a 1914 quarter. The Minelab vs Garrett bout was under way with each of us not operating at full capacity due to the weight of our soaked clothing.....you could say we were sort of under the weather!

Of course Max being the dog he is chased everything he could find on four legs!

while this bouy had a nasty surprise digging up this which had no legs. Think I interrupted his sleep.

You can be sure me son that French Dave is going to feel it tomorrow after swinging that beast for seven hours. Why he walked so much today that he wore his legs down and now has to bum around!

Changing locations we hit a few more targets before it was time for our ship to come in.

French Dave's loot which included the hat badge, 1885 fish scale, 1905 large cent and a few more toasty coppers that I'm sure he'll clean up later.

As for this bouy a pair of hat badges, button, 1914 quarter, toasty harp token and a crusty 1902 large cent and some modern clad.

Of course arriving home like this Marie immediately wanted to throw my outfit in the wash.....without me taking it off!

Leslie--how did you manage to get so dirty!? Did you fall down in the mud? ;D

That little snake looks like a ring neck? He's a cutie.
