Both found on the same site. One is slate the other pottery. Coincidence? I still wouldn't know what one could be individually. the pottery is not broken it was made that way and the slate appears to be also.

That was my first thought since it was obvious ...but the area that would be the suspension holes doesn't look broken. I will try to load photos.

ForumRunner_20121008_211952.png This might sound out there.. But does anyone think Something like this Could have been used To steady a small drill When starting a hole.. Even if held in place With The foot While both hands We're on the drill? Just thinking outside the box.

In your area they may have used the bow technique on the stick to start a fire. Strange that they are similar but the grove is not showing any wear or smoothness. Heck I do not know:dontknow:

I can't help but to just stare at those pics and think. Hours now, still drawing a blank. Good grief. I got to go to bed on this one. I can't even make up a bull jive purpose for them, and that is my specialty!!??? Good luck!

Gator, wasn't it you that has a local museum that can give info? Or was that another member. I know BBalah or Brett has a near by museum he takes stuff to. Send him pics. I'm sure he would be glad to help you. I want to know what they are!!!

Yeah that definitely wasn't me. But that's another story. Just because someone represents a museum doesn't always get you the quality info you might think.

It's a starting place. Just trying to help. A good reputable museum would more than likely have a person that could talk your level. Not talking about a $2.50 walk through museum, although, I have been to one of those and saw some nice nice stuff. No doubt real also. Someone knows what those things are.
