Damn Fine Collection pl8man!
Very cool. Having spent half my life working in salvage yards, I have a decent collection of plates myself but none that old. I do have all 50 states, most of the Canadian Provinces & 1 from the Red Lake Band of the Chippewa Indian Reservation. I think my oldest is a NH 1918 which is not porcelain. I believe it's one of the first painted plates NH made. The Northwest Territories Canadian plate shaped like a polar bear is a tough one to get.
Hey Glen, You have an awesome collection!
I dug these 3 license plates? Dug them in San Francisco. What do you know about these? they are 4 " X 1 1/2"
Here are pictures of my office walls at home . I have collected early U.S. plates since 1981 . The first two pictures are porcelain license plates . The 3rd and 4th are early 1900's home made pre state issue license plates . Most states before the state wide issue would give you a number and the you would be responsible for making a number tag . It's a great hobby !!
Thanks for looking ,
Glen (PL8MAN)
Cool collection ! Yours are good as wall hangers . Minnesota plates from the 1930's are not worth much even in great condition . The only way the value goes up on a re paint is when it is done by a re paint company . Keep them up on the wall , they look cool !View attachment 1219553 View attachment 1219554 View attachment 1219553
Super collection. Just wondering if the plates that I have were worth keeping. They all are in pretty bad condition and I repainted the best I could.
As you can see they are in sequence 1935-230,36-231,37-232 and 1938-233. They all looked like 1938 before paint.
Thanks for showing and any suggestions would be helpful.
