I knew that Canadian money isn't as valuable as American...but..(Ace 150)

Hey there fellow TNeters, just picked up an Ace 150 at a great price, saw it so I said "Why Not..". Well, I love the Ace 150 and you do get what you pay for! This machine has been great so far, but one Tiny problem. I know that the Ace is an American Made Machine, and as most of you know, or don't, I'm Canadian. Well, Today's Canadian coins (2000+) Are made of less conductive metals, rather then the highly conductive American coins. Went to do a bench test, and most of the Candian coins that are from 1990+, show up as junk. Not sure if you can fix this or not, but do need some help. I love this machine, and didn't think that Americans though so little of our money Of Course, You all know I'm just Teasin'. I'm just kidding, but is there any way to fix this? If anyone reading this topic has an Ace 150/250, Try out a Canadian Coin if you have one, sweep it under your coil, and watch the junk/Iron get a nice hit. Well, just wondering, if anyone can help, please do so Thanks for your time!

This is a problem with all coins that are not highly conductive, not just Canadian, funny money. LOL. Sorry, I couldn't help myself. It doesn't matter where a detector is made. Money that is lower on the conductive scale like this will read as into the iron range. My Excal does not sound off well on Canadian coins nor as deep as it sees them as iron. Loonies and Toonies are different and I like them.

The only thing you can do is to lower the discrimination to get a solid hit on the coins and you'll find more junk too. You'll also find more thin gold rings that would normally read in foil range. Good Luck.

Try some modern Mexican money. That stuff reads like junk.

At least American coins, while intrinsically worthless, still detect well!
