Folks,
This will be my last post as I've decided to take up basket weaving instead. :tongue3: I've been in a real detecting slump over the last month and a half. I've hit some great old houses too, even a few Colonial houses , but still nothing to write home about. :'( My wife & I went up to northern Indiana earlier this week to visit family & friends. I fished (caught nothing), detected at the two houses pictured, drank a few cold ones (not detecting), and ate like a pig. My wife & I also hit the casino a few times. Who had the best luck you ask? As you can see by my measly finds, SHE DID. ;D She hit another video poker royal flush for over $1300 as soon as we got there. Boy, I love my wife. :laughing9:
It was great being back home in Indiana in the fall though. Great memories.

I have another old property on over 20 acres lined up for Saturday, so if you know of any witch doctors please have them take this spell off of me. :angel11:

Have a great week,
MM

Try that thing they were talking about with the raw egg and waving it all over your body. Might try waving it over your detector too, couldn't hurt. :dontknow:

Having drooled over your finds for the last couple of years, I'm finding it impossible to feel sorry for you.

And I'm really trying, too. Here goes.....

Hey Doug ... I know how you feel ... I've gotten into a slump several times myself and sometimes they seem to last forever ... just remember that those unbearable hot NC days are behind us for a while now and the great fall weather is here again ... it's time to detect so get with it and shake that bad karma and go find some gooddddddd stuff ~ Jimmy

You can LOOK FORWARD to having a possible 3 BEST FINDS for 2009 in Western and Eastern Treasures Magazine next year and you had your article published in the August issue of that magazine, as well as, several articles written about you in Raleigh area newspapers. Most people would say you have had an extraordinary year even if you did not find anything else the rest of 2009. Slumps come and go, hang in there and HH!!!

Jim,
You got that right. I've been waiting since last spring to finally be able to get back out into the woods. Those days are coming soon. :icon_thumleft:
Thanks,
Doug

Holy crap Doug. What were you fishing for Marlin? The fishing rod "lip ripper" in that photo :laughing7:
Do whatever you did to snap the silver slump last year. ;D

I know. Isn't that ridiculous! That's the only pole my buddy had for me to use that day. We were fishing for salmon in the St. Joe River. It was either that or my brothers Snoopy rod & reel, so I chose the whale rod. ;D
Didn't matter though, we didn't even get a bite.

Jer,
Any time buddy. Look me up if you come to NC. I have a lot of old places to hit, and always something new coming up.

Ha, ha, ha.
Actually those two places probably have some nice finds. I was short on time this trip, but can hit them again next time back.

Dug, I know you'll break out of you slump very soon. If your banner finds are any guide, you will be back to shocking the forum before you can say the word "dig" "dug". :laughing9:

I'll be the first to tell you, "I told you so," right after you bust through again. Go get 'em, buddy Dug!
