Folks,
This will be my last post as I've decided to take up basket weaving instead. :tongue3: I've been in a real detecting slump over the last month and a half. I've hit some great old houses too, even a few Colonial houses , but still nothing to write home about. :'( My wife & I went up to northern Indiana earlier this week to visit family & friends. I fished (caught nothing), detected at the two houses pictured, drank a few cold ones (not detecting), and ate like a pig. My wife & I also hit the casino a few times. Who had the best luck you ask? As you can see by my measly finds, SHE DID. ;D She hit another video poker royal flush for over $1300 as soon as we got there. Boy, I love my wife. :laughing9:
It was great being back home in Indiana in the fall though. Great memories.

I have another old property on over 20 acres lined up for Saturday, so if you know of any witch doctors please have them take this spell off of me. :angel11:

Have a great week,
MM

Forget the witch doctor, man. Just keep hitting the sites over and over again. Hit them with the machine turned to AM mode. hit them some more in disc mode. You will make finds. The Silver umax is a great machine. There has to be more at those sites. Sometimes a slump happens. It isn't about constantly producing awesome finds anyway, it's about having fun. Not that you need reminding, but maybe some of the newbies need it.

look on the bright side, you were smart enough to pick a wife who is lucky so you can just relax and not worry about having to be lucky...so Just keep on swinging the detector the slump is now officially over. now go out and get those awesome finds so you can share them on here with all of us.......:)

Glad you had a good trip to IN, Doug. We just returned from a trip to Upper Michigan, Wright Patterson AFB, OH and Cinncinati. I did not even bring my detector, which is a first. But with my wife and 4 small boys, I would not have had much time. It did hurt when I saw several streets in Marquette, MI that had the concrete completely removed. Oh well, not enough time, plus Marquette was my old stomping grounds 85-88' when I was stationed at KI Sawyer AFB and I had not been there since 1989, so I was so excited to be retracing my steps with my family in tow, that I was not too interested in detecting anyway. Take care, Bryan in Goldsboro

Dug, I know you'll break out of you slump very soon. If your banner finds are any guide, you will be back to shocking the forum before you can say the word "dig" "dug". :laughing9:

I'll be the first to tell you, "I told you so," right after you bust through again. Go get 'em, buddy Dug!

Sir Kyle

Thanks my Colonial friend. :icon_thumleft:
I'm hoping you can tell me , "I told you so" on an LC before the year is over. ;D
I'll get one sooner or later. I need to get that sucker crossed off my list.

to me a slump is when you find nothing at all....so as long as you find stuff you aren't in a slump.

Got it???

Either way just cause you aren't digging anything you consider neat doesn't mean we still don't wanna see it...junk or not

MM, my guess is she'll buy you dinner at the nicest place in town, if you wash your hands...

...and that's a far sight better than some days I've spent detecting !

Best

Doug, you just need to move back up here where the good stuff is :tongue3: Maybe you should take up bass fishing instead of basket weaving. You will be missed :'(
