Dear all,

my great grandfather bought this vase in Indonesia 100 years ago.
The entire vase is engraved and tells some kind of story.
If anyone knows anything, then please let me know.

Thank you all in advance.

Thank you very much DCMatt. Do you maybe know the time period of the vase or the type of metal?

It is Indoensia etched brass. They've been doing it like that for centuries. It is impossible for me to tell the age, especially from pictures only.

Thanks again. Do you know how I could figure out the time period, value ext. I have inherent multiple Indian and Indonesian items. These were bought in Asia about 100 years ago for in does days quiet a bit of money. I would like to understand more about the items, but I'm having problems finding specialist in Amsterdam.

Anyway thank you for your time and the useful information.

I can't really help with the time period. Here are a couple of places on the internet where you can try to ask questions:

You might also contact the Indonesian Embassy in The Hague. My experience in Washington DC is that embassies are often eager to help in matters of cultural heritage.

Good luck.
