Not sure of the value but they're nice finds. I think that a 1901 s is a key date but I dont see a mint mark on yours making it a philly.

Nice Barber Quarters ! Named after the designer Charles Barber - the series ran from 1892-1916 (your coins are actually early 20th century)
You might enjoy a copy of the "Red Book" a guide book of United States Coins - by R.S.Yeoman Argentium.

thanks for your help. wheres a good place to go hunting at in urban area?

You gotta do your research on your area... if you're only looking to find money and jewelry, then anywhere there's congregating people traffic - parks, playgrounds, athletic fields, etc. If you're looking to do artifact and older coinage, then I'd say backyards in the historic district and anywhere you find in your history research. Where are you from, anyway?

EDIT: Just answered my own question. Let's see here...

According to Wikipedia, yours is not what I'd call "urban" in any sense. I'm not even sure I'd call it a suburb, although I guess it could be one of Scranton's suburbs. Wiki also mentions that it was a logging town for a long time, so if I was you, I'd research logging camps. I also happen to know that up north there in the mountains there was quite a bit of mining, so you might try thinking of local hiking trails that follow/cross old railroad grades. You should also research the Wyoming Massacre of 1788 (Revolutionary War). This one site says that most of your town was cultivated fields before anything was built, so that means to me that any parks or fields might contain relics or coins dropped by farm workers. By 1910, there were 8 single-room schoolhouses scattered around town - you might look up their former locations and hunt there.

Just my 2c... HH
