just a button

this button i found in clay near the northsea in friesland/Europe, at the same spot and depth i found a coin dated 1659 so it must be quite old, it looks like silver, almost black but on the scale of my Garrett gtax750 it reads a steady 4 and thats more like a German mark, the wire is made of copper/brass and at the back it looks really handmade because of the irregular surface. the front is and almost exact ball-shape.
that's all for this week, next term of hunting will be Saturday evening, i hope i will find something to post then!

nice button, if it is as old as you say it is, it is probably rare because flat buttons were more common

Its a 17th century Pewter button. Might be iron core with pewter coating.
