Many years ago "basically" got overused to the point of ridiculousness, and don't even get me started on "like" which has shown an amazingly long life since its first use as part of valley girl speak.

Now "actually" has become the chosen filler word of the decade. In its proper context, it's fine:

"He actually said that to you?"

But it's being thrown into everyday speech where it isn't needed:

"I actually saw that movie the other day."

"Actually's" proper usage as an intesifier is becoming diluted. So please give this hard-working word a break. I actually mean it!

(And kudos to those who don't taunt me with an "actually" in their response! ;D)

In reality, I, in fact use that word fairly often. Indeed, I will absolutely try to use it less.

Basically I like could have used that word like basically four times in like those two sentences, like you know. ;D

Forsooth, I have seen this same point made on literally a million other web sites. Isn't that ironic.

I think the word "appreciate" gets used to much.

I would appreciate them not using the word appreciate.

AND

Athletes say "yes, most definitely" or "definitely" way to often.

HIO IMMY: Basically I would say that in actuality the use of actual is time specfic in many actual cases, with a bit of actual spontaniety showing up in the basically correct useage of actuality in it's many basically actually adopted forms which today are actually allowed as basic good grammer in all actuality..

As for your actual secondary basic post --->

(And kudos to those who don't taunt me with an "actually" in their response! )

I personally, basically, am actually above such basic thingies.

Don Jose de La Mancha

p.s Shaaddup peeps he hehe

Actually, The Bottom Line, probably gets used more. LOL

Now that I have told you this, you will be listening for it. You will hear it a lot and that is the bottom line.

At the end of the day we count our chickens.

How have they been impacted by this turn of events?

Would of Could of Should of (would'o/could'o/should'o) or
Would have Could have Should have (would've/could've/should've)
So many contractions, so little time.

Warm and fuzzy as a Care Bear in a microwave.
Is that a figure of speech or are you speaking figuritively?

It'salloverbutthecrying huh?

Then Ben goes like, "Forsooth, I have seen this same point made on literally a million other web sites."

Whoa! I mean totally, you know?

How cool is that !

(Are we there yet?)

Basically, "the truth of the matter" is actually over used more than any other at this time....just list to any politician...

had to submit "my 2 cents worth"
