Latest overused word ---> ACTUALLY

Many years ago "basically" got overused to the point of ridiculousness, and don't even get me started on "like" which has shown an amazingly long life since its first use as part of valley girl speak.

Now "actually" has become the chosen filler word of the decade. In its proper context, it's fine:

"He actually said that to you?"

But it's being thrown into everyday speech where it isn't needed:

"I actually saw that movie the other day."

"Actually's" proper usage as an intesifier is becoming diluted. So please give this hard-working word a break. I actually mean it!

(And kudos to those who don't taunt me with an "actually" in their response! )

In reality, I, in fact use that word fairly often. Indeed, I will absolutely try to use it less.

I think the word "appreciate" gets used to much.

I would appreciate them not using the word appreciate.

Athletes say "yes, most definitely" or "definitely" way to often.

HIO IMMY: Basically I would say that in actuality the use of actual is time specfic in many actual cases, with a bit of actual spontaniety showing up in the basically correct useage of actuality in it's many basically actually adopted forms which today are actually allowed as basic good grammer in all actuality..
