Iā€™ve owned a detector for several years now but have never really had the time or good permissions to find much. Today was the best day of detecting Iā€™ve had and a great way to finish the year.
My friend owns a house in Lawrence, KS built in 1902, supposedly the first house in the world to be built entirely of Sheetrock as the first owner was the son of a gypsum magnate.
It would have been a mansion in those days and could probably still be considered one today.
Got permission and got out at 9 am, and instantly starting getting good targets. Dug four clad quarters, two 1965ā€™s, a ā€˜66 and a ā€˜67 within the first five minutes and knew that today would be a good day.
Several cladā€™s later I dig up this beauty:

My first Indian Head, and even though I scratched the front digging it I was elated. I got excited but made sure to dig more carefully from then on.
Next quality find was this:

A lucky piece from the Chicago World Fair, made from the aluminum of the new trains being built at the time. I thought it was a piece of junk when it popped out it was so light.
Ok so now Iā€™m getting really excited, and dig another first for me:

My first silver dug, and first mercury dime.
I started sending pics and texting my friends who also like to collect and hunt.
Other firsts included was not one, but two buttons:

Any information on them would be awesome...
Also dug my first what I think is either a belt or shoe buckle, and it was my deepest and most interesting sounding signal of the day. Another first!

And when I thought I couldnā€™t pop any more cherries out pops my first non modern bullet find.

Any info on the bullet would be awesome too... wondering if it could date to Quantrillā€™s Raid.
Last interesting fine was this

Not exactly sure what it was, looked like a cap to something?
So yah! Amazing day, and I only covered 1/3 of the yard today in 6 hours. Excited to get back and do the rest!
Thanks guys for always posting amazing stuff! I learn so much from this site and am glad I finally found something post worthy!
