i now hunt with a minelab explorer se pro but my first detector was a 505 and i will never knock the 505 like it very much very under rated made many excellent finds very lite and fun to use got an old mercury dime at 9inches with it half cover by a rock you made some nice finds i see with your 505easy to become one with the 505
