If what you have is the old "Slimline" coil, then the answer is definitely "YES"! As a matter of fact, you'd be hard pressed to find a poorer coil than the Slimline coils.
The stock PRO coil, the Ultimate 13, or any from Coiltek or Sun Ray are all good.

I have a Sunray X-8 with a lower rod for sale. The X-8 is a favorite FBS coil for Etrac/Explorer users.

Get SEF 10x12 and Coiltek 15" ...
just change the slimline, you will see big difference...
