Today I found my first and only 24K ring. It was found in an old park and was around 5 1/2 inches deep. It looks old to me but I would love to hear your opinions. Also, does anyone know what the asian writing says? On front and inside??

Since both the USB ports are broken on my computer I had to use my phone to upload pictures. Sorry they are not the greatest.

Neil,
Thats along the lines I was thinking. Mid to late 1800s. I asked in the discussion forum if anyone knew when they started stamping gold with 24K but did not get any answers. I did not think it was too long ago.

The pocket watch was not found at this site. That was a farm field find. The oldest item I could date from this site were a couple of Draped Bust large cents. I hit this park quite often since it is close to work and it seems to always throw be some sort of keeper. This one was extra nice.

Thanks for all the comments.

I hope this one is not brass...lol. I'll have to have it tested at some point. Was his marked that it was gold?

Awesome Ring, Congrats! Looks like the real deal to me, 5 1/2" down and no signs of oxidation :icon_thumleft: .

I asked around on another forum. Here's the best reply.

"Literally 好彩 means "good colors", but figuratively it means lucky, fortunately, or lottery. But I like the term good colors more anyway. Life is all about adding beautiful colors to it. Have you added beautiful colors to your life today?"

Yep "Good Fortune". I remember that being it. Mine isn't marked as gold. It looks like it was silver plated at one time.
