Been at it about a week now and found this buckle. I'm still trying to confirm what it is.

That looks like a very good find indeed - it looks like a nearly complete two part buckle set, missing the right side strap guide . The
buckle experts will set you straight on this soon enough !

Only a week & you found this? That's super lucky! Kuger should be able to give you some insight on this. Great find!

I am by no means an authority. That looks like an Eagle and Wreath civil war belt Buckle. Actually only half of the buckle. That is one great find. I would go back to see if you can find the other half. That would indeed be a great find. HHHH

Turns out it might be WWI

I found one online that is like yours, not a true 2 piece wreath. It stated this was a 1905 buckle but no idea how accurate that is although I would guess early 1900s. It's definitely post Civil War. Is your back like this?

Great find! Naval false two piece. I never thought much about belt buckles until I found one similar to yours this year. Congrats! Hope to see it cleaned up!

Just my quick google search .. but does it say "W. H. Horstmann & Sons Philidelphia," that is the Civil War period markings.
