I had my first 100 coin day last week - but no pics cause they were all clad.
Yesterday I was sick and miserable and it was cold and I drove to one of my favorite spots to dig. I lasted about half an hour and just gave up - I felt so sick. It was so miserable that I thought seriously about hanging up the detector for the season.
Then for some reason after work today I realized I had a window of about 20 minutes of light left - so I ran outside for some yard digging. I actually was running - the neighbors probably think I'm nutty.
I've been playing around with the settings - and tried a new combo today and voila! my first silver coins (I have found one silver ring and a diamond earring that I believe isn't real). That's a bonus I have with being new is that I get to dig a lot of firsts!
The coins were in the same hole (quarter is 1937 and very worn, dime is 1942 and in pretty good shape)- so I dug the two other sounds nearby and found the handle and the hinge looking item. I have better pictures of the hinge from different angles, but the files are too big. The other pic with the coins includes another whatizit. I'm afraid to clean off the greenish coating b/c I don't know what it is.
