My first three center

Hi all . Today I managed to find my first three center and a real weird 1887 seated liberty. I,ve been hunting in a old pasture that has produced a few silver . the three center came up in the high thirty's so I was really surprised to see silver. there is alot of trash at this site so I may have been getting a reading from that I don't know. I also managed to get a weird 1887 seated dime I have never seen silver so tarnished. Maybe the manure or maybe it's a counterfeit ? here are a few pics thanks for looking. Goldbill

Sometimes if the silver is in the same hole (touching) it tarnishes bad.

Nice piece. Only have seen those in coin exhibits.

Re: My first three center

Thanks everyone for your comments. The trime has been on my list forever. This is the first one I have laid eyes on . There have been countless small pieces of foil that have made me think is that a three? My buddy happen to be standing over my shoulder when I pinpointed it and he thought it was a half dime.(we have found four canadian at this site).pretty exciting experince . Happy hunting all the season is short especially here in Maine Goldbill

Nice Silver!
I got an '80s seated that had no rim, too thin, & about half weight.
(though detail on it was ok) Love the oddballs & CFs ;D
Grats on your Trime

some of the earlier 3-cent silvers were 75% silver and 25% copper, whereas they later changed it to 90% silver and 10% copper like the other silver coinage. perhaps yours is an earlier one and the reason you got an odd reading?
