hereis my first token. I found it in my bosses yard. He was adding on to his house that was built in the 1800's. He removed about 5" of top soil. This was the only thing that i found. At first it just looked like clump of mud but when i cleaned it up, well you know, i didn't know what to think.

gratz,id check the top soil he scraped off betcha find awesome stuff

I agree with Priestpower, what did he do with the topsoil? Hopefully it is in a nice pile somewhere on the property? If so, spread it out a little & see what's in there! Nice token, I wonder how they worked that 1/2 cent thing, did they have lots of 1/2 pennies around back then?

Token aluminum or copper? Aluminum didn't come into use until WW II, so maybe top 5" wasn't enough to get down to 1800's layers? Cool shape, I worked a factory demo that produced scalloped tokens like this...maybe one of theirs? No way to tell, but I have found quite a number of this shape in Columbus, oh.

Is that name Z. Z. Winbibler on the token? Google shows nothing if it is.

Sort of hard to distinguish for sure from the photo.

Reckon the 1/2 cents thing made you buy 2
