My brother recently bought a 2500 but considered the ATP too. Why do you prefer the ATP?
After gettitng accquainted with the AT Pro, I had feeling that it had better target separation than my 2500 (2500 has 10 year old technology) I have taken both several times, hunted a small area with the 2500 first, then picked up the AT and picked up lots more stuff with the AT. If I hunt with the AT Pro first, the 2500s' pickens are from slim to nothing. The only place I find the 2500 excels is in gravel parking lots, because I can null the sensitivity down to only find surface to 3 inches, which is Ideal when I only have a few minutes and want to pick up surface drops. On minimum sensitivity the AT looks like it goes to deep for what I want. The 2500 is a great machine, just for my understandings of the 2 machines the AT seems to get along a little more efficiently.

My wife is just the opposite. She was raised in the country on a farm. She loves the outdoors, and everything you do outdoors. Hunting, fishing, you name it. Now she has taken over my Fisher F2 (my first md) and gives me a "run for the money" every time we go out together. I can't believe how fast she "picked up" on how the MD works? She seem to understand what the little F2 is saying,a lot more than I ever did!:laughing7:

I'm sure I'm now being redundant and sounding like a broken record but this silly little machine just keep impressing me.

Last night I was more than a little bored so I took the ATP out in the front yard and picked a gum ball machine ring and 2 more memorials (buried not surface). You might think "big deal" but understand this small front yard has seen no less than 10 different detectors including E-tracs, Vx3 & Vaqueros by eight different detectorist. The yard has been thoroughly combed!

Now if you'll excuse me...I'm on a silver quest today. (well everyday, but I have a new spot picked out that looks ripe)

Wow that sounds great I may be considering upgrading to the ATP when I am done playing around with the Ace 350.

The ATP is a "bloodhound" when it comes to "sniffi'n" targets. I've got into a rut, hunting 2 schools, and 2 parks over and over again, but the ATP just keeps finding more targets each time!:laughing7:

Actually have 3 for sale. Coinmaster Pro, MXT Pro and my Vx3. I hear ya on keepin a spare. I have a Compadre that I'm keeping and if the MXTP doesn't sell today (guy coming to look), I think I'll keep that too. The CMP needs to go away and I just don't know how much use the Vx3 will get anymore! :(

I was running Pro Zero with Iron Disc @ 30 I think. Sens was one off max.

Oh boy different machines! Different ways of reaching the same objective. I view the MXTP as blunt force trauma and the Vx3 as a scalpel. Both can make you dead!

The MXTP is simple and powerful and the better balanced of the two. The MXTP is easier to hunt by tone than the Vx3 for me.
MXTP will easily run 40hrs on a good set of batteries, the V 12hrs maybe 15. Maybe!
I love the analyze feature of the V and it's probably the deeper of the two.
The MXTP is much easier to stabilize and runs the D2 coil awesome. The D2 on the Vx3 is a bit prone to EMI. Most noticeable when I turn on the pro pointer! Annoys the living sh...crap out of me so I pull the headphones off everytime I use the Pro Pointer.
Bottom line I like both but the V hasn't proven to me to be better! Push came to shove...I'd keep the MXTP

I think the ATP and MXTP will make good stable mates!
