need help identifing this coin please.

i found this and a canadian quarter in the yard when i recovered the lost wedding ring. i'm thinking its chinese but i'm not shure. any help appreciated.

I forget where I seen it online but you can date the coin with the characters that are on the side of the temple. I dug a Japanese coin from 1875 once.
