Need help with IDing this item

It's been a while since I found this, but I never got around to posting it.

It looks sort of like a bullet but is hollow. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

It looks like a cap gun bullet. Some of the older ones had a brass shell with a white metal insert that looked like a bullet.

I've also found something similar to that except it had a screw placed in it. Mine was about an inch long and 1/8 of an inch wide so much smaller than your find. It may be some sort of building supply, but I could be wrong! My find was steel.

It looks like it was crimped onto something as a guide, like the curtain rod end idea DCMatt has, I winder if it is too large to be the bomb ring.

I just thought about a wire cable end that prevents wire cables from unraveling.
