It looks like a cap gun bullet. Some of the older ones had a brass shell with a white metal insert that looked like a bullet.

What Goldiver said, had recalled old memories in the skull. The Atom Bomb, Americas greatest Superhero. Or at least it use to be.

I've also found something similar to that except it had a screw placed in it. Mine was about an inch long and 1/8 of an inch wide so much smaller than your find. It may be some sort of building supply, but I could be wrong! My find was steel.

It looks like it was crimped onto something as a guide, like the curtain rod end idea DCMatt has, I winder if it is too large to be the bomb ring.

I just thought about a wire cable end that prevents wire cables from unraveling.
