Need more ideas in locating a Park

Someone said it already but local historical museums / society is usually a great source for something like that. Good luck!

Can you find old aerial photos of the town? Where would be the likely spot to launch a boat. Maybe gonna have to go exploring.
Try old news articles from the time. Maybe park was mentioned.

Ok Still liking all the ideas. I will use these and more on some other places to locate. I really APPRECIATE these ideas.The property owners have gave my son permission to detect there property. These ideas are great and hopefully we all can use them. There was a steam ship that took people up the river to the park.
Update I got the idea to check for water levels. It seems in 1922 or so there was a dam built down river a bit. The water level was raised quite a bit and now it seems the park is under water. :( If anyome has any mopre locating ideas i am sure we will all Appreciate them and THANKS !!!!!!
