I'm always looking for new places to hunt. Today I found another median strip that has so many coins and trash that I had to dig a target every three or four steps! I spent the next 6 hours digging about 400 targets! 190 were coins! After all that digging my highlights for the day were a silver Washington quarter, silver earring, silver chain with Maltese cross, and 2 wheat cents. Total clad was $13.08. This median strip is extremely easy to dig in, it's a mixture of dirt and sandy soil. The trash is mostly those darn aluminum screw caps, I most have dug around 50 of those bad boys:icon_scratch:. I forgot my camera on this hint, so I missed the field pics.:BangHead: Will keep everyone posted with field pics when I return to this spot in 2 weeks. I have completed only 20% of the area, so hopefully more good stuff is out there!

I'm exhausted just thinking about all that diggin'........!!
Congratulations on an extraordinary array of finds!!

What is in your ground?? Silver comes out shiny here. Your quarter looks like it came out of a very dirty bunch of water. Sweet save though. Lots of coins you dug. Hope many more silver come your way

cool-hand, good to hear of your on-going exploits. Is the parking strip old ? If so, hopefully when you farm all the clad and modern stuff out, you'll go back through and start hearing more oldies deeper. Congratz.

This is very typical of the silver coins I've found on the west side of San Francisco. I've dug dozens & dozens of silvers on this side of town just like the quarter I got today. I'm working an area only about 150 yards from the salt water beach on the pacific coast. Before all the houses were built in this area it was miles of sand dunes. The sand must still have a high content of salt. Silver just does not hold up as well under these conditions. ....But I still love the ugly ones!

It's old. San Francisco beach goers have been walking through this area since the city started. Not far from this area I dug a seated quarter a couple of years ago...

Congrats on your 64 silver quarter - clad - toy car and other finds - one spectacular hunt - toy Cobra race car is my favorite, anyway thanks for your post & I wish you many more finds when out dirt fishin.

Fantastic Relic, jewelry and coin hunt! Congratualtions! :occasion14:

With 80% of the area not covered, you are going to need a bigger pouch for all the new finds! :icon_thumleft:
