Newbie with Big Silver Whatsit??

Hi All, Dusted off my old Whites XL pro (2001) and hit a buddies 1850's place after a long Ohio winter. Got a sweet 1917 merc, Big silver mens ring and a Silver maybe Hair Clip?? Dug at 8" can't believe it survived without being mangled!! Any info would be great.
Thanks to you All for getting me motivated again....

Thanks for the replies, at first I was thinking Hair Clip, but then again a Roach clip seems possible.
Considering the depth at 8" compared to the 17 merc at 5", I have to go with the Roaring 20's Dual purpose utentsil......
