If you are getting a lot of chatter in the wet salt sand or surf. First do a GB in the wet sand area of the surf/tide line, then if it is still chattering, put GB in tracking as recommended by the manual. Simply having sand in the between the coil and cover should not result in a lot of chatter. Are you noticing black sand or other signs of mineralization? Beach 2 should be the most stable mode of all. You might also try lowering sensitivity a tad if necessary.

No black sand that day, sound and numbers went full spectrum. I'll try ground balance next trip out, which should be friday

Went to the beach today, big north wind left some nice cuts, but my hour and a half only produced a junk cent. Anyway, no chatter. I did the ground balance both methods and all worked well. Forgot to put my skid plate back on after cleaning the sand out, no shells or rocks, just sand, so it was easy on the coil. Also, watching one of the Gigmaster YouTubes, found out the cell phone can cause chatter as well, so I kept it in my left back pocket just in case.
