Had a great time last week at the shore. Only go a couple of hours a day over 4 days and found 40 coins and a small rock that looked like it has quartz on it but gives a metallic reading. Need to do more research on it but had fun for the first time out.

Hope you used a good sand sifter to make digging easier. Dig every target, gold rings sound like pulltabs. Jersey beaches are great for swimming and detecting.

You don't see any gold colored stuff in that quartz do you?

It looks like sand caked on a dark metal object--It is only about a quarter of an inch across. the wife said there is no gold color.
