Your large cent is a Matron Head, which narrows its date down to 1816-39, anyway. Good work!

I always check around older trees because kids always played around and climbed them. When I hunt in a yard I always check extra hard the places I think the kids would have played.

Those trees are great places for picnics or just hanging out in the shade, especially in older days before Air-Cond was popular. Also makes a good marker to bury your money such as during the Civil War when people couldn't trust banks. As for the hundreds of thousands killed then, if they buried their valuables it's still there waiting to be MD'ed, by the Old Oak Tree.
