Old MercDonald's

;D Caption.....Stoney's idea. :D He says all hunting sites have to have a name, and so the name of the site where I found the ugliest merc has now been christened..."Old MercDonald's" ;)

Went back out to this site last week and found three wheats and few buttons, a really bad example of a tax token and other assorted junque and the neat little green bottle.

Returned today to see if I could find another site on the same property (after looking at my old maps) on the opposite end of the pasture...bet I walked 10 miles! :o The pasture use to be farm land so after doing all this walking and finding nails, tin and bullets I have come to the conclusion that if in fact there was another long gone house site, that it was strewn allllll over the field and it just ain't worth it! :-\ ....well....in this heat anyhow...time for a new site to hunt. ;)

Have a great weekend!

Nana ;)

LOL! Well.........at least ya got a piece of silver out of the deal. And you're right, that really is a bad example of a tax token. ;) Best of luck on the next site.

Re: Old MercDonald's

I know what you mean Nana, back before I became a poor hopeless cripple whom nobody loves anymore ;D ;D ;D(violin music ;D), I did my share of boondock hiking.

Sometimes the effort just isn't worth it. But ya know even the crappy hunts seem sort of good the next day.

As for your finds here they're cool. You did alright. I like those old buttons and the bottle is a very nice color. I'm putting together a really awesome button collection. Never really cared for them before.

Best,

Badger

Hi Nana, looks like you found some interesting things there, the bottle is a neat color. When I was a kid I used to smash bottles and make pictures with them. I'd take cardboard and draw a pic and then glue the different colors on, gee I wonder how many older bottles I broke. :-\
