Today was cold and very wind not to mention my detector is not around at the moment so I decided to head into the woods and look for some bottles, thought it maybe warmer and I would be digging so the cold wouldn't bother me. I found 3 nice TCW CO. apocathary medicine jars of different sizes with the stoppers, and few cobalt blue medicine bottles but I started finding vintage toys and focussed more on that. I found an old bubble pipe, a small plastic mammal, a dinosaur, a small robot or alien figure, some marbles ( I can't find the age or manufacturer. Could anyone help with this?) I also found two mini monster figures with mpc stamped on the bottom, I think they are my favorite finds. I know it's not much but it helped scratch the digger itch.

Thanks... I just looked up the mini monsters on eBay and I'm kind of shocked that they are that high in price.

Great finds, plastic playset toys can often be quite valuable. Now you just have to find a Marx Johnny Ringo figure! (Worth about a grand for a little plastic
the dinosaurs look like mpc from a prehistoric playset. Maybe there is more of this stuff there?

That's a pretty good day in my opinion, love the old toys and marbles. Heck, I had a couple of those bubble pipes just like that one too when I was young, still remember the taste of the soap! Nice finds on a cold day, got that itch lately myself and need to get out to scratch it.

Hi Stone, You are on a gold mine, congrats! I would take a leaf rake or leaf blower to that entire area and get as close to the dirt as possible, there will be more. Your little brontosaurus is made by Lido, and probably a cereal premium, but they were sold in sets too. Your big Machrauchenia dinosaur is by MPC, rivals of Marx, and was part of a bagged set. Your little spaceman was made by Superior and was part of a "Captain Video Spaceport" set. Your MPC monsters were also cereal premiums and from sets. Coloring on plastic toys indicates a general time frame of manufacture. Since all of yours are drab, gray, or metallic, your toys are from the late 1950's-1960's. Have fun and post what else you find. Sub 8-)

Looks like a fun hunt. And listen to what the guys are saying. Go over that site with a fine tooth comb and see what else you can find. Could be a little treasure when all is said and done.

The big, metallic blue Machrauchenia is from MPC, and the little brontosaurus is made from the original Lido toy mold, which later went to other toy companies. Enjoy! Sub8-)

MPC plastic prehistoric animals with the Machrauchenia on a typical "blister card".
