Interesting Find, I don't know a lot about Roman items,
Similar copper or brass rings were used as buttons after string was woven about the ring. (post roman era) :icon_scratch:

Pretty sure its not pewter, but a type of copper-alloy with enamel decoration. Although its big for a normal Roman Bead, it could be the centre piece. It looks very similar to other Roman bronze beads I have had (although mine are much smaller).

I know it is hard to tell without the thing in your hand but I have had a very good look with a magnifying glass and I can see that the decoration material is covered in patina. The ring it self has not oxidization at all. What could it be? It is very smooth to the touch and I found it in the woods on the side of a known Roman road. I really appreciate everyone's help. :icon_thumleft:

I agree that it is some sort of annular center piece. I am really not sure if it is a copper alloy or not. If it is it has very low copper content. Thank you everyone for your help. :hello2:
