So these two have ben in my coin jar just noticed them rolling my change today are these Normal. One the color looks off and the other the lettering on top is almost on the very edge of the coin any ideas ? Or just keep them in the roll?
lol.
Color is normal, copper can tone any number of different colors depending on it's environment. The other cent Has a combination of slightly misaligned die or slightly off center depending on whether the reverse is normal or off slightly as well. Would need to see the reverse to see which it is. It also has a ridge ring which is caused by die deterioration. None of these things are out of the ordinary.
"brass" cents can have value as an "annealing error". migration of zinc molecules into the copper layer either from the oven or the wash process. "error-ref.com" covers most mint caused errors in all coins during each process. a must have reference site
I still have never seen a error coin in person lol I don’t know maybe not sure what I’m looking at or what. But I do save the years that are common I think
