4 - LARGE rocks....symetrical in size to each other....two FLAT slate rocks....+/- 3' across x 10" thick...far end sunk in ground....had a SMOOTH boulder (600-800 lbers) that seemed to be on the ENDS of the FLAT slate rock.....probally the reason why the FLAT slate rocks sunk. Seems to be numbers's on the SMOOTH boulders...#6, #7, #8....plus a rock drilled looking eye at the bottom of one boulder. ALSO ....between ALL these 4 rocks....is a small flat rock with a man chisled looking side on it...not natural. This area is KNOWN to have a history of Spanish explorers...seeking gold from the Indians. These rocks go back 3 generations according to the property owner....middle of cow pasture...no other rock structures ANYWHERE around......a small island in middle of river within 50 yards...turtle eye pointed in the direction of island....

So any thoughts or theories on this would be appreciated....killdrumsataoldotcom

That's really cool next question you are going to see what's under there right? Lol kinda looks like a burial plot but those rocks are pretty big. Keep us updated

A2Coins....yes we are....we got some decent hits w our metal detectors Sunday....and we will be bringing in the skid steer this week. What's unusual...the place where the rocks sit has collapased over time....making ONLY THAT AREA concave. There are books about THIS AREA that talk about a waterfall where the Spanish enslaved the Indians to mine gold...and when the wandering Spanish leaders returned to the waterfall...the Spanish soldiers were killed...and the Indians and gold were gone! The waterfall is within a 1/2 mile of these rocks...there are NO OTHER rocks anywhere in this 100+ acre cow pasture. In the local museum sit many Spanish artifacts from this area. More to come this week! Thanks for your interest!!

Can you give more detailed pictures of the rocks? One pic from a mile away makes it tough to see. Lol

Looks like field clearance to me, so those rocks could have been anywhere in that field before they were put together.

Agreed....but these rocks came out of the river...as the smoothness proves that. The TWO slate rocks are in the tons...not hundreds of pounds....my partners father, father played on these rocks as a kid....1930's we figured....the slates are at an exact angle....the one BOULDER resembles a turtle head or a whole turtle...the other has a head silloutte….the history of this area is thick w gold and the Spaish.....we should be bringing in a skid steer Thursday!!
