Even the U.S Government has stated the AR-15 is suitable for personal use. Would the U.S. government declare an assault rife suitable for personal defense......NO

As of this point in time it is completely legal to own. Personal use does not necessarily mean personal defense. Obviously could just mean target practice. I don't think the statement could be construed as a comment on gun control - pro or con. Personally I would find the ar15 to be a pretty poor choose for home defense. Rifles are not particularly well suited for confined environments which defeats the advantage in range they have over other weapons. Id stick with handguns or preferably a stockless shotgun. Just my opinion.

Personal use is personal use period....An agency of the United States government states the Ar-15 is SUITABLE FOR PERSONAL USE that covers personal hunting, personal target practice, and personal protection.....

Right was not disagreeing with the gov, but you stated in your commentary personal defense which would be a sub category of personal use. Your being very confrontational instead of just reading and understanding people's posts. Most are not attacking you or your views but simply pointing out facts or points. No big deal.

Government said AR-15 is suitable for personal defense which naturally falls under personal use.....Fact still is a government agency, not just any agency but Dept of Homeland security stated the AR-15 is suitable for personal defense....Obviously the government would not approve an assault weapon for personal defense and use...........Not being confrontational just posting reply....

Sure, assault weapons are perfectly legal now - what do you think they would say?
