WD,

We get the mayflies also along the lake and call them shad flies around here. They only live for a few days and feed the fish and purple martins.

If you have purple martins in your neck of the woods put up nesting boxes for them since they eat 10 times their body weight in insects per day.

They tend to live in colonies so here's a link for different types of nesting boxes.

This all brings back a memory. My parents took us to the Ohio State fair once. There were all of these side shows. We went in to the ape woman tent. All the kids were sat up front. I was like 5 and my brother 14. There was this pretty lady sitting on stage and a man in a tux telling the story about the Ape woman. He captivated his audience and while he was talking the lady started growing hair and then BAM! She was an ape. Scared the living daylights out of us! All the kids were screaming and scrambling to get out. The parents were desperately trying to find their screaming kids. Total chaos! It's a wonder no one got hurt.

The campground has a bunch of those. I have a pic. It may take a minute to find. They get all kinds of birds up there.

Tom, you are getting less particular in your old age. I expected you to say something about the heels not being green, and your wookie is wearing boots. You hate boots!

Now look at this Sis! Seems I getting old.... didn´t recognized that boots :BangHead:

I'm sorry, but it looks like I'll miss out on some fun. I have to leave for some tree work in a few minutes.
